Extended Properties Overview
KommerceServer’s SQL Database can be extended dynamically through the Store Management system. This feature is most often leveraged to extend product data that is specific for the type of product or industry. These extended properties are then linked to applicable nodes in the product classification tree which, in turn give relevance to any products associated to the classification node. Extended properties linked to parent nodes of a classification tree inherit down to the lower (child) nodes as well.
Display
Extended properties can be configured to be displayed while browsing the class tree and/or displayed on a specific product page as shown in the image below.
Advanced Search
It may also be useful to allow web users to find products based on extended properties that can be specified as searchable fields. See the Item Class Advanced Search Definition topic for more information.
Sort
Once you have defined your extended properties and exposed them on the applicable product listing pages, users can sort by those properties when they are viewing the associated product listings.
